Blueberry Forest Road is a Koochiching County Land and Forestry road in the Pinetop area, between Mizpah and Wildwood northeast of Northome. The county’s brown routed-letter sign marks the entrance, reading BLUEBERRY FOREST ROAD, KOOCHICHING COUNTY, LAND AND FORESTRY. It stands at the edge of a recent harvest where young aspen and willow are coming back thick, with the older aspen stand behind. Maps carry the shorter name Blueberry Road; the sign uses the county’s longer form.
County forest roads are open to recreational use and see log trucks in season. Expect sand and gravel, no services, and an active timber landscape that changes from one year to the next.
