Galvin Road is a logging haul road in the forest lands south of the Rat Root River, south of International Falls, maintained by Molpus Timberlands Management, LLC. The white sign at the entrance sets the terms in the company’s own words: light vehicle traffic by the public is permitted at your own risk during dry or frozen conditions, and abuse of this privilege may result in the permanent closure of the road to public vehicle traffic.
Read that as a road for dry summer weather or hard winter frost, not for spring or the days after a rain. It is a company gravel road built for log trucks, which have the right of way, and there are no services along it. Leave it the way you found it and the gate stays open for everyone.
The photograph here is from an August visit to the entrance sign. The road beyond has not been driven for this listing.
