About the AI on this siteHow ifalls.news uses AI

ifalls.news is a small operation, and much of what you read here is written by AI systems we run. They read public sources, such as city and county agendas and minutes, school newsletters, park, weather and water-level services, and community calendars, and turn them into the articles, roundups and listings on this site. The box at the top of an AI-written article names the AI model and the sources it worked from.

Every automated article goes through automated checks before it publishes: one for structure and wording, and for most of our feeds a fact-check that compares the draft against its sources. A draft that fails is held for a person to look at. We do not read every article before it goes live. People review some of what publishes, spot-check the rest, and fix what readers report.

That means mistakes get through: a wrong date, a misspelled name, a number read off the wrong line, a meeting that was rescheduled after the agenda posted. For anything that matters, such as a meeting time, a closure, a deadline or a price, check the original source linked in the article.

If you spot an error, tell us through the correction form or at info@ifalls.news. We fix errors as soon as we see them.

Content on this site is provided as is. ifalls.news, Small Town Tech Inc., their staff and partners are not liable for decisions made on the strength of an AI-written article, and an AI-written article does not state a position of ifalls.news or its staff.

IFalls News Launches “IFalls News Open Discussions” Facebook Group

We are excited to introduce our brand-new Facebook group: “IFalls News Open Discussions.” This group is dedicated to fostering open and thoughtful conversations about all things related to International Falls and the greater Koochiching County area.

Whether you’re a current resident, a past community member, or simply someone who enjoys visiting and wants to stay connected, you’re welcome to join. Local business pages are also invited to become members and share their perspectives, events, and news that may be helpful to our community.

Minimal Moderation: Currently, I (Ted Saxton, who runs IFalls News) serve as the sole admin of the group. We believe in freedom of expression and encourage open dialogue, so our moderation will be limited to meeting Facebook’s community standards. We aim to find additional moderators from within the group who demonstrate sound judgment, respect for all viewpoints, and a commitment to keeping discussions relevant and meaningful.

Group Rules:

  1. Be Respectful: Disagreements are okay, but hate speech or harassment will not be tolerated.

  2. Stay on Topic: Posts should relate to International Falls, Koochiching County, or subjects that directly impact our community.

  3. No Violence or Threats: Posts promoting harm against individuals or groups will be removed.

  4. Authenticity Matters: Fake accounts or deliberate misinformation intended to harm or deceive the community may result in removal.

  5. Minimal Moderation: We’ll only intervene if absolutely necessary to uphold these guidelines.

Group members are strongly encouraged to post updates, share local news, and start discussions. However, slander and threats will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Join Us: Ready to stay informed, engaged, and connected? Become part of the conversation by clicking the link below: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1175776113956501
